Fire department operation - Senior citizen carries burning mattress out of the apartment

A senior citizen bravely prevented a potentially major fire in her apartment. The 99-year-old carried a burning mattress outside onto the balcony where, according to the police, it burned down in a controlled manner. The woman remained unharmed. The mattress had caught fire on Monday evening, presumably due to a technical defect in a self-heating comforter. After the fire department had ventilated the apartment, the senior citizen was able to return to her rooms.
