Scholz on reducing bureaucracy: "Speed and speed"

Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) has called for speed in reducing bureaucracy in Germany. The bureaucratic regulations have become excessive over the past 30 to 40 years, he said on Saturday in his welcoming address at the Brandenburg SPD state party conference in Schönefeld. That is why the laws will be reviewed.

The liquefied natural gas terminals have shown that "Germany can also be fast", said Scholz. "Speed and speed must become the key objective in Germany and we want to achieve this with our Germany Pact." At the beginning of September, Scholz proposed a Germany Pact to the CDU/CSU and the federal states to modernize the country.

In his speech, Scholz defended the subsidies for citizens and the economy to cushion the consequences of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. "It was right that we did not leave citizens and companies to fend for themselves." He also emphasized that Germany would continue to support Ukraine in its fight against the Russian war of aggression.

Scholz mentioned that the liquefied natural gas terminals demonstrated the capability of Germany to act swiftly. In line with this, the SPD leader proposed "Speed and speed" as the primary goal for modernizing Germany, as part of his Germany Pact.
