Russia's leadership is entertaining the notion of Trump's election victory.

A fellow claims he can wrap up the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in a day: Donald Trump. Moscow, though, holds a different opinion and proposes a theoretical scenario to the public.

The Kremlin doesn't think victory in the war against Ukraine will be swift if Trump secures another term as the US president. As stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov on Russian television, "I don't believe there's some sort of magic wand. It can't be resolved in a day." This comment was in response to Trump's claim to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in a day.

Peskov entertained the notion, suggesting, "What if the next US president, in their inauguration speech, declares that the US is interceding for peace and thus ceases its support for Ukraine?" He continued, "Maybe there'd be a shift in perspective, particularly in Kyiv." Peskov emphasized that this was merely hypothetical.

Harris or Trump, Moscow shows no bias

America's arms supplies to Ukraine have plunged it deeper into the conflict, according to Putin's spokesman. Relations between Moscow and the US are reportedly at an all-time low. Officially, Peskov stated that Russia doesn't favor any particular candidate between Trump (Republican) and Kamala Harris (Democratic) in the US election.

Ukraine has been battling off a Russian invasion for close to three years, receiving military aid from several Western countries, but to little avail in altering the military scenario. Russia's demands for a ceasefire amount to Ukraine's unconditional surrender.

Zelensky yearns to chat with Harris and Trump

Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his desire to present a peace plan to his American counterpart, Joe Biden. Zelensky specifically referred to the United Nations General Assembly set to take place at the end of September, where he intends to attend and potentially meet Biden. Additionally, Zelensky desires to discuss his peace plan with the two probable successors to the US presidency, Vice President Harris and likely her adversary, Trump. The US election takes place in early November, with the transition of power in the White House happening in January. Biden is not seeking re-election.

"The crux of this plan is to persuade Russia to terminate the war," announced Zelensky on Tuesday. "There can be no concessions to Putin," Zelensky stated in reference to the Russian leader. Dialogue, as of now, is "empty and void" since Putin has no interest in negotiating peace diplomatically.

In response to Zelensky's peace plan, Peskov, the President of the Council's spokesperson, maintained Russia's stance, stating, "We remain committed to our stance on the conflict and will not compromise on our demands for a ceasefire." He further clarified, "The next US president, whether it be Vice President Harris or former President Trump, must understand that Russia's interests in Ukraine will not change."
