Russian President Vladimir Putin makes a return to Chechnya after a 13-year absence.

Kadyrov shared his plans for a jam-packed schedule on Telegram. Despite having a exhausting day, Putin was bustling with enthusiasm and was eager to explore various locations in Chechnya.

Previously, Putin had paid a visit to other Northern Caucasus territories, such as the Russian republics of Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia. In North Ossetia, he made a stop at the school where the brutal school hostage situation in Beslan unfolded, just days before the 20th anniversary.

Centuries of rebels had taken over a thousand individuals as hostages, including hundreds of innocent children. When Russian security forces raided the school on September 3, 2004, more than 330 lives were lost, including 186 children.

This marked Putin's first trip to Chechnya in a decade. Despite staying away for quite some time, Chechnya had a substantial impact on Putin's political journey. Serving as Russian Prime Minister, he initiated the Second Chechen War in 1999, which boosted his image as a powerful leader, gaining him favor among many Russians.

In 2007, Putin designated Kadyrov, who was only 30 at the time, as the region's leader. Ever since, Kadyrov has ruled Chechnya with an iron grip, and allegedly deployed thousands of fighters to support Russia's military campaign in Ukraine.

After Putin's visit, there were discussions about potential developments within the Sub-Republic of Chechnya. Kadyrov's political strategies, influenced by Putin's early actions, have been crucial in maintaining stability within the Sub-Republic.
