- Rottach-Egern's Rosstag Event Experiences Downpour
The annual parade at Rosstag in Rottach-Egern by Lake Tegernsee was somewhat dampened by the unfavorable weather conditions. Approximately 200 ornate horses made their way through the town in the Miesbach district, braving the rain. A large crowd of spectators was anticipated, but attendance was low due to the poor weather.
Victorian carriages, chaises, landaus, and other historical wagons, along with impressive brewery teams, were present at the event. The horses and riders passed through Ellmau district, where they received a blessing for the upcoming year at a complimentary altar. Subsequently, the teams proceeded to the festival grounds. Traditional groups dressed in folk attire and brass bands, some hailing from Tyrol and South Tyrol, accompanied the procession. However, several groups were missing, likely due to the weather, even during the blessing.
Rosstag was initiated over 50 years ago by horse enthusiast Thomas Boeck under the motto "d'Fuhrleut kemman z'amm". After his demise in 2007, the municipality has taken charge of organizing this event.
The following is a list of the categories of products showcased at the event: historical wagons, brewery teams. Despite the challenging weather, several categories were unfortunately absent, such as some traditional groups and brass bands.
