- Ricarda Lang has tied the knot, without any delay or ceremony preceding it.
Green Party leader Ricarda Lang tied the knot with partner Florian Wilsch in Berlin, according to Bild. The ceremony took place in front of friends, family, and colleagues at a venue near the Spree that can accommodate up to 150 guests. Lang announced her engagement back in March 2023.
Lang, a math genius and previous spokesperson for the Green Youth in Bavaria, shared with Gala in 2023 that their wedding wouldn't be a grand event and they wouldn't opt for the popular choice of Sylt, like Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) did for his wedding.
The Journey of Ricarda Lang from Long-Distance Love to Marriage
In an interview with the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung (NOZ) a few months ago, Lang hinted at the possibility of starting a family. "And that notion certainly motivates me. The idea of having children one day carries with it the responsibility to shape a world where my kids can thrive."
The couple has been an item for quite some time, navigating a long-distance relationship. In 2023, Lang revealed to Bunte magazine that she frequently travels to Hannover by train to spend time with him. "If I don't get a seat, I'll sit on the floor in the aisle. But those train trip hassles are worth it for me."
Even with significant political obligations, Lang emphasized the importance of personal joy. "That's the base," she said at the time. When asked if marriage is outdated these days, she responded, "I don't think so. For me, a wedding symbolizes our commitment to stay together and remain faithful to each other. To aspire to start a family someday. I'm all for tradition."
The Green Party, led by Ricarda Lang, congratulated the newlywed couple on their marriage. The Green Group extended their warm wishes to 'The Green Group's respected leader and her partner, celebrating their nuptials as a symbol of love and commitment.
