Restoration: Reduced Waste Post-Rave the Planet Compared to 2023

Despite this year's Techno event in Tiergarten, sizable mounds of waste lingered behind, yet less compared to the previous year, as confirmed by the city sanitation team. The organizers have scheduled another cleanup session on Wednesday.

At the "Dance the World" Tech Festival, Berlin Waste Management (BSR) reported lower waste than the previous year. Approximately 110 cubic meters of trash were picked up along the parade route on Straße des 17. Juni, from the Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column, as indicated by a company representative. In comparison, it was about 145 cubic meters (around 135 cubic meters in 2022) the year prior.

The cleanup of the assigned area on the parade route was handled from Saturday afternoon till Sunday afternoon, as the representative explained further. The BSR wasn't liable for the cleanup in the Großer Tiergarten. Mostly bottles and packaging materials were removed.

Organizers announced an additional "Clean-Up" day on Wednesday.

The BSR reportedly had around 120 staff members and 50 vehicles present. Environmental protection and waste reduction were among the organizers' concerns, as they had mentioned, and they cleaned up the Tiergarten with volunteers on Sunday. They announced a follow-up "Clean-Up" on Instagram for Wednesday.

Tens of thousands of individuals partied in Berlin until late Saturday night at the third iteration of the Tech Festival, with Loveparade founder Dr. Motte. Around 300 artists and 30 vehicles took part in the massive dance demonstration, according to the organizers. They had estimated 300,000 attendees and spoke of "tens of thousands" who participated.

The BSR implemented enhanced urban cleaning measures for the festival, focusing on the parade route, to ensure a cleaner event compared to the previous year. After the Tech Festival, the organizers encouraged everyone to participate in a dedicated "Urban Cleaning" event in the city on Wednesday.
