RB Leipzig goalkeeper Blaswich nominated for DFB team
Janis Blaswich has been nominated by national coach Julian Nagelsmann for the last international matches of the year. The 32-year-old goalkeeper has been rewarded for his recent excellent performances in the RB Leipzig shirt. "Janis is a goalkeeper who is a good footballer but is also very strong on the line and has good charisma," said Nagelsmann on Friday at the nomination ceremony. The former RB coach had "never met Blaswich personally, but only as an opponent, and he was positively crazy after the game, getting extremely excited when they didn't win. That always impressed me a lot, the way he stood back there".
The national coach has named 27 players for his home debut against Turkey on November 18 in Berlin and the clash against Austria in Vienna three days later. The recently injured Benjamin Henrichs is back in the DFB squad. In contrast, David Raum was not included this time compared to the national coach's debut in October against the USA (3:1) and Mexico (2:2). Leipzig striker Timo Werner was once again not included.
Janis Blaswich's impressive performances for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga have caught the attention of the national team coach, leading to his nomination for the upcoming international matches. In the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig is known for producing talented players, and Blaswich's selection to the national team further highlights this.
