- Priscilla Presley joins the list of individuals expressing sympathy.

This year at the Vienna Opera Ball in February, American celebrity Priscilla Presley (79), ex-wife of the legendary Rock 'n' Roll king Elvis Presley (1935-1977), walked the floor with Austrian businessman Richard Lugner. Turns out, she was his final dazzling guest, as Lugner, affectionately known as the "Concrete" Lugner, passed away on August 12 at the age of 91. His family has since opened an online book of condolences, where a heartfelt message from Presley, his last Opera Ball companion, can now be found.

In her message, Presley expresses her sympathy to Lugner's family, stating, "I am truly sorry for your loss. My heart is with you during this tough time. Spending time with Richard was a pleasure, and attending the Opera Ball was an unforgettable experience. Richard was an exceptional host and quickly became a cherished friend. Our last dance together will always be remembered. His absence is a significant loss."

Rich farewell for Vienna icon

Lugner's family announced plans for his memorial service around ten days ago. The burial is scheduled for August 31 in a intimate gathering of family and close friends.

Beforehand, a memorial service will be held at Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral at 9 am, allowing the public to pay their respects. The public is invited to bid farewell to Lugner together, as reported by the "Kronen Zeitung". The coffin carrying Lugner's remains will later be transported through Ringstraße in a vehicle.

The procession concludes at Lugner City shopping center, marking the end of the public part of the funeral. The actual burial will take place later at Grinzing cemetery after a religious ceremony at Kaasgraben church in Doebling district.

Presley expressed her gratitude towards Lugner in her condolence message, mentioning, "I am grateful for the memorable time spent with Richard at the Opera Ball." Reflecting on their last dance, Presley added, "The memory of our last dance together will always hold a special place in my heart."
