Prince William is surprised with a new look

Prince William and Princess Kate send a vacation message and congratulate the British Olympic team with a video message. Notably, the new look of the heir apparent catches the eye - his three-day beard is well-received by fans.

Prince William and Princess Kate sent a video message to the British participants on the day of the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. However, instead of greetings and the fact that Kate, who has been keeping a low profile since her cancer diagnosis, is making a public appearance again, it is mainly the new appearance of the heir apparent that occupies the royal fans and followers.

In the clip, William and Kate - she in casual leisure wear, he in a team jersey - appear alongside a row of well-known personalities, including US rapper Snoop Dogg and English football icon David Beckham. Kate says in the clip, "From all of us watching at home, congratulations to the British team." The Prince of Wales, wearing an official blue Team GB top, adds, "Congratulations to Team GB, you are an inspiration to us all."

Fans are thrilled by Princess Kate's appearance during her break, where she continues to undergo preventive chemotherapy. "Gorgeous," many rave in the comment section. One user writes, "It's great to see Catherine and William again." The Princess of Wales was last seen in public at the Wimbledon men's final in July.

"You look stunning"

However, all eyes are on the heir apparent. The 42-year-old presents himself not only with a beautiful vacation tan but also, for the first time in around 15 years, with a three-day beard. And it's well-received. For the first time, he is the one who receives the most heart and flame emojis in the comment section for his appearance. "I love William's beard," "I had to watch it again just to see William's stubble, wow! And I'm way too old to be writing this" or "I love the scruff, Will and Catherine, you look stunning!" are just a few of the many enthusiastic comments about his new look.

In 2008, when he still had a few more hairs on his head, the prince grew a beard for a short time. But as quickly as it grew, it was gone. Whether Kate found the stubble a thorn in her eye - or chin - at the time is not known. However, William's younger brother, Prince Harry, has proven with his facial hair that it suits the royals. Fans agree: A comment asking William to keep the beard has already been liked over 1200 times.

Also, King Charles sends his greetings

This year, the British are in seventh place in the medal table with 65 medals. On the Instagram account of William and Kate, it says to the British athletes, "Well done, British team, what an incredible journey! Each athlete has shown immense dedication, heart, and passion. You've made us all so proud! Let's celebrate every triumph and look forward to more at the Paralympics later in the summer."

US rapper Snoop Dogg, who was seen as a guest moderator of the NBC network at this year's Olympics, rounded off the video. With his typical smile and relaxed manner, he said, "Thanks, Britain. From Snoop Dogg, the prince, and his lovely wife," before clapping his hands and bowing.

The video of Kate and William was released shortly after a warm declaration by King Charles III, in which he hailed all Olympians as "an inspiration". The monarch congratulated the athletes on their "outstanding achievements" and praised their "genuine talent, true courage, and hard work" just hours before the close of the Olympic Games in the French capital.

In the comment section beneath the video message, fans expressed their admiration for Prince William's new three-day beard, with comments like "I love William's beard" and "William and Catherine, you look stunning!" Following the video release, a comment asking William to keep the beard gained over 1200 likes.

Despite the focus on Prince William's new appearance, King Charles III also made a warm declaration, praising all Olympic athletes as an inspiration and celebrating their outstanding achievements, talent, courage, and hard work before the closing of the Olympic Games in Paris.
