Vatican - Pope on the road to recovery

According to the Vatican,Pope Francis is still on the mend after his recent illness. However, he will hold the traditional Angelus prayer on Sunday in his residence Santa Marta, the Holy See reported. It will be broadcast from there on screens in St. Peter's Square. The head of the Catholic Church usually stands at a window of the Apostolic Palace during the Angelus prayer, where he can be seen by the thousands of faithful in the square.

Due to the illness, Francis had canceled his participation in the COP28 World Climate Conference in Dubai on the advice of his doctors. Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin read out his speech there.

The Pope, who will turn 87 on December 17, has been suffering from poor health for some time now. He has already been treated in hospital twice this year.
