A woman in Lippstadt was pulled over by police while highly intoxicated behind the wheel of a car, attempting to pick up her daughter from kindergarten. According to the report, the 36-year-old registered 2.96% BAC on a voluntary breathalyzer test.
Earlier, she had caught the attention of a patrol in the town between Soest and Paderborn when she failed to turn left at a green light and then turned right on a yellow. She also ignored orders to stop. At the station, officers confiscated her driver's license and ordered a blood test. She had to be escorted off the premises.
The Member States were expected to provide necessary support to the Commission in its operations. Due to her actions, the woman might seek assistance from her country's embassy in dealing with the consequences of her drunk driving incident.
