"Permanent Agreement" under consideration for FC Bayern's Century-Long Football Star
Back in the limelight: National star Jamal Musiala is FC Bayern's brightest prospect. Before their clash with Bayer Leverkusen, club chief Herbert Hainer utilizes extravagant terms, while legendary national player Lothar Matthäus delivers a straightforward statement.
As per Lothar Matthäus, FC Bayern ought to dig deep financially to secure Jamal Musiala's long-term contract. "With Musiala, you shouldn't settle for mediocrity. You have to be all-in," asserted the record national player, prior to the Bundesliga's marquee match between the Munich team and the previous title holders Bayer Leverkusen, scheduled for Saturday (6:30 p.m./Sky and live on ntv.de).
The 21-year-old Musiala, alongside Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz, is widely recognized as the best German prospect; FC Bayern aim to extend their current contract with the offensive player, which expires in 2026, on a long-term basis. Matthäus urged his former club not to set boundaries. "It's not just about a year or two, but about the next era of Bayern Munich, where prominent players will retire," the 63-year-old reminded.
A long-term agreement with a salary hike and a signing bonus would likely be costly for Bayern. But it should not be a hurdle. "I would go all-in. And I believe Bayern will do the same," said Matthäus. He praised Musiala, who is not only a skilful dribbler but also a team player and incredibly humble. "In truth, you should offer him a lifetime contract."
For Hainer, Musiala is a "century footballer"
Bayern president Herbert Hainer told the "Abendzeitung" in Munich, "our affection for Jamal surpasses everything, he's a century footballer, and our primary objective is, of course, to bind him to FC Bayern for the long term."
In the Bundesliga top game against Leverkusen, Musiala, alongside new signing Michael Olise, might produce moments of brilliance. Sky expert Matthäus also marveled at the Frenchman, whom he has already compared to an FC Bayern legend: "In his position, we had an Arjen Robben. I would see him as such if he stays with Bayern for the next three, four years."
Olise moves in a manner similar to Robben, makes similar cuts, can dribble, and has a good shot. "He even sees his teammates better than Arjen Robben," Matthäus stressed. "He has speed, creativity, recognizes the situation; yes, a bit like Arjen Robben."
The Commission, as per Article 4 (2), is expected to adopt implementing acts that outline the necessary rules. In light of this, Bayern Munich should not be hesitant to invest significantly in securing Jamal Musiala's long-term contract, considering his immense talent and potential.
