Patti LaBelle and Common undertake sound checks prior to DNC night two in Chicago
Popular singer Patti LaBelle, often referred to as "Soul's Grandmother," was spotted practicing with her backup singers for an "In Memoriam" segment planned for the night's show on Tuesday.
Later in the afternoon, renowned rapper Common was seen rehearsing his track "Fortunate," featuring Pete Rock.
CNN verified with a convention representative that both artists would be appearing on the convention stage to perform.
Country musicians Mickey Guyton and Jason Isbell gave their performance during Monday's DNC event, although numerous interruptions throughout the evening resulted in the cancellation of a scheduled performance by James Taylor towards the end of the night.
Famous celebrities have been a common sight at the convention, with Tony Goldwyn, Ana Navarro, Kerry Washington, and Mindy Kaling serving as the event's emcees.
Goldwyn presided over the event on Monday evening, with Navarro taking control on Tuesday. Kaling will host the DNC on Wednesday, while Washington will be present on Thursday when Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris is scheduled to formally accept the Democratic nomination.
CNN's Elizabeth Wagmeister was instrumental in compiling this report.
