The targeted structure, according to Palestinian sources, was a school housing displaced individuals. However, the Israeli military asserted that Hamas had concealed a command center there, which was the actual target of the mission.
"Hamas extremists utilized the command and control center for planning and executing attacks," the military declared. These assaults targeted soldiers and Israel as a nation. Precision ammunition was employed, among other things, to safeguard the civilian populace, and the area was constantly surveilled from the sky. "Hamas terrorist organization consistently breaches international law and operates from civilian infrastructure and safe zones within the Gaza Strip," the army concluded.

During clashes in the Gaza Strip over the span of a single day, 34 Palestinians lost their lives and 114 more were wounded, according to the health authority under Hamas' control. The number of deaths in Gaza since the onset of the Gaza conflict more than ten months previously climbed to 40,173, with at least 92,857 more Palestinians reported injured.
