The court-imposed silence, enforced by Judge Juan Merchan in the legal proceedings against the ex-president, is still in force, although Merchan removed certain parts of it in June. Presently, Trump is restricted from discussing particular prosecutors, court personnel, or their family members in detail. Trump's lawyers contested both the initial silence order and the revised order.

The judges from the Appeals Court chose not to intervene in the dispute over the revised silence order, stating that "no significant constitutional issue is directly at stake."

Trump's legal representation didn't provide an immediate response.

Trump was previously convicted of 34 instances of record falsification, relating to secret financial remunerations given to adult entertainer Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election campaign. The sentencing in this case has been postponed until late November.

Despite the court-imposed restrictions, Trump's political speeches often touch on broader issues, avoiding explicit mentions of the specific individuals involved in the ongoing legal case. The politics surrounding Trump's post-presidency have been heavily influenced by these court rulings.
