New DSDS season starts in September
Fans of "Germany's Got Talent" can brace themselves. The 21st season of the casting show will bring some changes. The start date is also a surprise.
For the first time, the search for Germany's next superstar will kick off on RTL this year in September. Fans of "Germany's Got Talent" (DSDS) can look forward to new episodes every Wednesday and Saturday. There will be a total of 15 episodes in the 21st season, including a grand live finale in Cologne. The new DSDS episodes will air on linear TV starting September 18, with the first episode available on RTL+ a week earlier. The next episodes will be exclusively available on RTL before the linear broadcast.
This year's jury consists of pop titan Dieter Bohlen and two former DSDS winners: Pietro Lombardi and Beatrice Egli. Singer Loredana joins the panel.
The jury castings took place this year for the first time at Europa-Park in Rust. There are no changes to the golden CDs, which jury members give to candidates for a direct pass to the next round. In 2024, this is known as the "stadium recall" at Schalke. Here, the superstar hopefuls will compete to advance to the international recall, which this time will take place in various locations on the Greek island of Crete.
For the first time in DSDS history, there was no upper age limit for applicants. "The oldest candidate this year is 92 years old," said an RTL spokesperson. Additionally, the show's opening theme, the "opener," was revamped for the first time in over 20 years. Even the iconic DSDS logo has had a facelift.
The anticipated return of "Germany's Got Talent" on RTL this September offers fans an exciting opportunity to witness the search for the new superstar through new episodes every Wednesday and Saturday. Intriguingly, the revamped "opener" and newly redesigned DSDS logo add fresh elements to the 21st season's entertainment.
