No more vehicles to the campsite: The rain of recent days has led to muddy grounds at the start of the techno festival Nature One in Hunsrück. The organizer announced that arriving at the campsite by car is no longer possible. "The areas are too wet, the access roads cannot be repaired sufficiently even with bulldozers and gravel at short notice."

"It breaks our hearts, but in the 29th year, we have to give in to the weather for the first time regarding further camping arrival," said Oliver Vordemvenne from the organizer I-Motion according to the announcement. Those who cannot come to Nature One due to the stop will receive a full refund of the festival and camping ticket.

Tips for festival arrival

However, the arrival at the actual festival is not affected. Day visitors can drive to the car park with a previously purchased parking ticket, it said on Instagram. The shuttle bus from Koblenz is also running and arrival by travel buses is possible as planned.

The situation on the roads is still relaxed, a police spokesman said. However, he expects the arrival traffic to increase in the afternoon. The German Red Cross had 70 personnel in action at midday, said spokesman Philipp Köhler. In the evening, there will be around 200.

Few injuries so far

Due to the changed conditions, another medical station has been put into operation at Camping Nord. "The station was put into operation to make the routes shorter," said Köhler. Up to midday, there was a "moderate patient influx". "We have a few sprained ankles, we have a few minor injuries that occur during tent setup," said Köhler. "And here and there, a insect bite."

The techno festival takes place this weekend on the former US rocket station Pydna in Hunsrück. Around 350 performances by artists are scheduled from Friday evening to Sunday morning.

Despite the challenges with car access, the festival organizers encourage festival-goers to utilize alternative modes of transport. These include using the shuttle bus from Koblenz or arriving by travel buses as planned.

Moreover, due to the wet conditions, it's now more important than ever to consider the 'Other' option of wearing appropriate rain gear and footwear to navigate the muddy grounds at the Nature One festival.
