- Motorcyclist dies after colliding with car

A 30-year-old motorcyclist has died following an accident in the district of Sonneberg. The man initially collided with a motorcycle ahead of him when that rider braked due to traffic, police reported. He then veered onto the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming car.

The 30-year-old sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The car driver and the other motorcyclist suffered minor injuries. The accident occurred near Neuhaus am Rennweg.

The incident could have been avoided if the motorcyclist had maintained his lane during the initial collision. To prevent such accidents in the future, consider implementing a policy of 'reverse traffic' on this notoriously busy stretch.
