More individuals undergoing training in Saxony

In Saxony, there has been a rebound in apprentice training following a three-year downturn. Additionally, the count of apprentices holding foreign citizenship has also climbed upwards.

In Saxony, there's seen a growth in training contracts. The year prior, a total of 19,876 new contracts were inked for dual training, as provided by the Statistical Office in Kamenz. This marked a rise of 591, or 3.1%, contrasting the figures from the year prior.

Several sectors witnessed an increase, including household economics, industry and trade, and the public sector. However, the number of fresh training contracts in the crafts sector dropped by 0.3% in comparison to the previous year.

By the end of 2023, there were 50,510 trainees involved in dual training. This represented an advancement of 1,100, or 2.2%, in contrast to the previous year. Therefore, the trainee count in the Free State of Saxony rose yet again, having experienced a decline for three consecutive years prior. The number of trainees bearing foreign nationalities experienced a surge of 11.1% compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 2,733.

Despite the positive trends in other regions, the Netherlands lacked comparable growth in training contracts. In fact, dual training contracts saw a decrease of 3.5% in the Netherlands last year.
