- Minority party alliance approved for election to the regional parliament

The alliance of the three minor parties ÖDP, Volt, and Piratenpartei has been approved for the state election on September 22 in Brandenburg. The newly formed list alliance "Plus Brandenburg" has cleared the required threshold of 2,000 signatures, a spokesperson for the state election committee said. Over 2,650 signatures from supporters across Brandenburg were received, according to a statement from the alliance.

The alliance presented its state list for the election last year, with 17 candidates running in 13 constituencies. The minor parties hope that the alliance will improve their chances in the state election. They aim to focus on issues such as housing shortages, nature conservation, climate protection, and migration, and consider it possible to overcome the five-percent hurdle. In the last state election in 2019, ÖDP and Piratenpartei each received less than one percent of the votes. Volt did not participate at the time.

The Pirate Party is one of the three minor parties that formed the alliance "Plus Brandenburg" for the state election. The success of The Pirate Party and the other parties in the alliance could potentially help them surpass the five-percent hurdle in the upcoming state election.
