Detectives are making strides in pinpointing the reason behind the blaze on the colossal Ferris wheel at the Highfield Festival, situated close to Leipzig's Störmthal Lake. Preliminary findings indicate that a substance situated beneath the ride's carriage might have been involved, as suggested by the Leipzig police. This substance is believed to have ignited "through some unidentified means" and subsequently spread to one of the gondolas.

The investigation continues. As of now, at least 23 individuals have been injured in the incident at the music festival, including emergency responders and law enforcement officers.
