Marlo Thomas honors her spouse Phil Donahue in a moving tribute.

Consequently, I shall take a temporary break from this platform to tend to my own well-being and support the numerous individuals who were instrumental in caring for Phil and cherishing him dearly.
Nevertheless, I felt it was necessary to express my appreciation for the multitude of heartfelt messages and words of encouragement that have been pouring in, as well as acknowledge the warm and generous spirit you've demonstrated in allowing Phil and me to share our shared journey with you throughout the years.
The duo had been married for an impressive 44 years.
"My career was centered around connecting with audiences, and Phil found great joy in our tight-knit community here. I am certain that he would be deeply moved by the heartfelt tributes and memories you've been sharing," Thomas added.
A clip of her guest appearance on his talk show from 1977 resurfaced on Monday. During the show, Thomas promoted her film “Thieves,” and Donahue affectionately complimented her, saying "You are truly captivating."
To which she replied, "You are amazing! I also expressed my admiration when we were off the air, and I'd like to reiterate, you are kind, generous, and you appreciate women. The woman in your life is incredibly fortunate."
The couple later tied the knot three years later.
Thomas decided to share the video on her YouTube channel in 2012, commenting "I met Phil on Donahue's Show in 1977 - the chemistry was instant!"
