Marie-Luise Marjan has a broken hip
"Lindenstraße" star Marie-Luise Marjan suffers a hip fracture after a fall. The 84-year-old undergoes surgery and learns to walk again in a rehabilitation clinic, saying she's "as agile as a deer".
Marie-Luise Marjan is currently recovering from a fall. In an interview with "Bunte" magazine, the 84-year-old, who played the iconic role of Helga Beimer in the TV series "Lindenstraße" for 35 years, revealed that she fell on June 7th while at the theater. She took a hard fall and fractured her hip.
"I was operated on immediately. It was lucky that my nerves and blood vessels remained intact," Marjan explained. She is now in a rehabilitation clinic in Bad Driburg, where she is regaining her strength after the fall.
First Time in a Gym
For the actress, daily training in rehab is a new experience, as she revealed in the interview: "For the first time in my life, I'm training on equipment. I've never set foot in a gym before." She plans to change that, aiming to see quick results. "In six months, I'll be running like a deer," she declared determinedly.
Marie-Luise Marjan played the role of "Mother Beimer" from the first episode of "Lindenstraße" in December 1985 until its finale in March 2020. In addition to her role in the series, she has appeared in various other TV productions and lent her voice to Queen Lillian in the "Shrek" films. Since "Lindenstraße" ended, the Essen native has been giving readings and continues to appear on TV, such as in "SOKO Stuttgart".
Marie-Luise Marjan's rehabilitation process includes using gym equipment for the first time. She expressed her intention to regain her agility, stating, "In six months, I'll be running like a deer."
