A man in England has been charged with dumping dozens of dead animals in an idyllic village in southern England. According to the British news agency PA, the bodies of 50 rabbits, a falcon, and a barn owl were found outside a shop in the village of Broughton, among other things.

The 37-year-old is charged with possession of wild birds and criminal damage, it was reported further. The incident occurred in mid-March. The trial is set to begin on September 10 at a court in Southampton.

Details of the case are scarce. According to a report by Sky News, employees of the community shop were greeted by a gruesome scene. The rabbit carcasses were reportedly scattered around the shop, and the birds were found impaled on door handles.

The man's alleged actions have raised concerns within the local business community, as the shop is a vital part of the village's economy. The wildlife rescue organization, seeking justice for the animals, has announced a plan to foster partnerships with local businesses to promote animal welfare.
