Multiple lightning strikes led to deployments in the city region of Aachen overnight. In Würselen, a lightning strike set a roof on fire, as a police spokesperson explained. The corresponding house was reportedly severely damaged by the fire and became uninhabitable. No injuries were reported, according to a spokesperson.

In close proximity to the affected house, another lightning strike hit a basement. However, there was no fire there, according to the police.

In addition to the lightning strikes, many basements flooded due to the storm with heavy rain overnight. However, no one was injured based on current knowledge.

Despite the absence of fire, the Police's concern remained high due to the recent incident of a rooftop fire caused by a lightning strike. Luckily, no such incident was reported near the basement that was struck by lightning.
