Actress Emma Hartley makes consuming news a daily habit. She mused, "It might benefit me to quit reading news right before bed and first thing in the morning." The 33-year-old shared this thought with dpa in Venice. "However, I enjoy having a sense of what's currently happening in the world."

"Since I don't use social media, I always reach for my phone due to news," Hartley admitted. She confessed that it has an addictive quality to it. She's attempted to reduce her news consumption but failed to maintain it. "I believe you need to be more disciplined than merely mentioning, 'I'll just consume less.' It's ineffective because it's still a habit."

Hartley stars as the main character in the film "September 5," directed by Tim Fehlbaum. This thriller recounts the 1972 Munich Olympics tragedy, where Palestinian terrorists held Israeli athletes hostage, ultimately leading to their deaths.

The movie, debuting at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, is set entirely in the TV studio of American broadcaster ABC Sports, which was nearby the Olympic village at the time. Despite objections from their news department, the TV team continued to broadcast live updates.

Hartley expressed her interest in attending more international film festivals, mentioning the Venice Film Festival specifically. "I've heard great things about the International film festivals Venice, and I'd love to experience it someday." After the successful premiere of "September 5," she hoped to attend more such events to support her fellow actors and directors.
