Leipzig in Manchester: preliminary decision for group victory
For RB Leipzig, the preliminary decision on group victory in the Champions League will be made today. The DFB Cup winners only have a chance of finishing first in Group G and thus hoping for an easier draw for the round of 16 if they win at Manchester City. A draw will be enough for the defending champions from England to avoid being knocked out of first place. Leipzig lost the first leg 1:3. Both teams reached the knockout round early on the previous matchday.
If RB Leipzig manages to secure a win against Manchester City, they will clinch the group victory in the Champions League. Regardless, Manchester City's participation in the Champions League round of 16 as group leaders is guaranteed, as a draw would suffice to maintain their position.
