Justin Timberlake returned to the stage Friday night for his first concert since his DWI arrest in New York on Tuesday.

"Justin Timberlake expresses struggle in his recent performance, occurring after his recent arrest."

"It's been a demanding week, but here we are, and nothing can alter this moment currently," Justin Timberlake expressed to an enthusiastic audience at the United Center in Chicago. "I know I can be tough to appreciate, but you continue to show affection towards me, and I return that love just as fiercely."

Timberlake is set to take the stage once more this Saturday for a second night of the “Leave Yesterday Behind” global tour in Chicago.

On Tuesday morning around 12:37 a.m., Sag Harbor Police observed Timberlake apparently driving under the influence in a 2025 BMW. He reportedly disregarded a stop sign and drifted out of his designated lane, police stated.

In conversations with the police, Timberlake mentioned he "had only one martini and followed my friends home," according to court records.

A Sag Harbor Police officer deemed him "inattentive," noting "his speech was slurred, he was unsteady on his feet, and he struggled on all standardized field sobriety tests."

Timberlake refused a chemical test three times. He was taken into custody, detained overnight, and is scheduled for arraignment on July 26, according to police. He was released on his own recognizance and his representatives have yet to provide a comment to CNN.

CNN's Marianne Garvey contributed to this report.
