'It's working again': Hoeneß takes up the case against Tuchel

All new at FC Bayern. But not all responsible parties of the record champion are only looking ahead. Honorary President Uli Hoeneß draws a comparison that the former coach Thomas Tuchel might not like. The attack department also has a statement ready for the Leverkusen competition.

Uli Hoeneß expects a reaction of defiance from the dethroned German champions FC Bayern Munich in the coming season. "Our players who didn't become champions are all quite angry and want to prove that it was a slip-up," said the Munich honorary president at a sponsorship event for the Bayern women's footballers with the Ehrmann dairy in Rottach-Egern.

"I have the feeling that our people are doing good work. I'm quite sure that we'll have a team that can become German champions," Hoeneß emphasized further. "Leverkusen will also have a very strong team. But FC Bayern has already well-equipped." In Hoeneß's view, the champion is "always the favorite". Leverkusen had even become champions for the first time unbeaten. But Hoeneß expects "a different tune" to be played this season.

The Bayern patron reported that he had also met the new Munich coach Vincent Kompany. "There's work being done, and that's something we've been lacking," said Hoeneß satisfied and clarified on request: "I think too little work has been done."

"Very confident that we'll be at the top next year"

In the past season, the FC Bayern was still coached by Thomas Tuchel. The Munich team missed the championship for the first time in twelve years. Although fans initially spoke out for the coach to stay, the agreement made during the second half of the season that Tuchel would leave the club at the end of the season remained in place. After a turbulent search for a coach, in which DFB coach Julian Nagelsmann and the Leverkusen champion coach Xabi Alonso were also on the candidate list, Vincent Kompany, who came from FC Burnley, was finally appointed new coach at the Säbener Straße. "I'm very, very confident that we'll be at the top again next year," Hoeneß expressed.

FC Bayern will face a tough test on Saturday (6:30 PM) in London against Tottenham Hotspur. The team of coach Kompany will then start their competitive season on August 16 in the DFB-Pokal against the newly promoted SSV Ulm.

The Commission, in its endeavor to ensure compliance with this Regulation, may adopt implementing acts to outline the specific rules for application. Hoeness, expressing confidence in the new FC Bayern coach, mentioned that there's been a noticeable improvement in terms of work done.
