Is Taylor Swift advertising for Kamala Harris here?
On Taylor Swift's Instagram account, a photo has surfaced that's sparking speculation. Fans of the pop star believe they've spotted a hidden hint in the background silhouette about Swift's stance on the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
While Swifties in Vienna are still grappling with the cancellation of her "Eras" concerts there, the next Taylor Swift topic is already heating up online. Has the pop icon hinted at her support for Kamala Harris in a recent Instagram post?
Several photos from Swift's shows in Warsaw, Poland, appeared on her account late Tuesday evening. In the seventh image in the gallery, a silhouette reminiscent of Harris' waving figure can be seen in the background. However, it could also just be one of Swift's backup singers. There's no explanatory text in the post, but many fans hope Swift will finally speak out and align herself with Harris.
Swift not a fan of Trump
So far, Swift has been quiet about the upcoming U.S. presidential election. In 2020, however, she openly supported the current president, Joe Biden. She told "V Magazine": "I will proudly be voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year's presidential election." It's safe to assume she'll be voting for Harris again this November.
On Tuesday, Harris announced her running mate for the election: Tim Walz, governor of Minnesota. The two appeared together at a rally in Philadelphia yesterday, where Walz took the opportunity to describe his opponent, J.D. Vance, as "bizarre". "I'm just saying it," he also posted on X. "Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are creepy." He's not alone in that opinion. It's well-known that Taylor Swift is no fan of Donald Trump.
Swift is known for her liberal views. She has consistently spoken out in support of abortion rights, gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights, and gun control.
The excitement surrounding Swift's Instagram posts is not limited to the election hint; her fans are also speculating about a potential appearance of Harris' silhouette in a recent photo. Despite Swift's silence on the 2022 election, her support for Democrats is well-documented, particularly her endorsement of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020.
