Furthermore, no Russian and Belarusian flags or other identifying symbols are to be displayed at any official venue at the Olympic Games in Paris. No government representatives from Russia and Belarus are to be invited to the Games either.

According to the IOC, eleven athletes, eight Russians and three Belarusians, have qualified for the Games in Paris so far. More than 60 athletes from Ukraine have secured a starting place so far.

The neutral stance of the Russian and Belarusian athletes at the 2024 Olympics signals a move towards unity and peace in the international sports community.

The IOC's stance aims to keep politics away from the arena during the Olympic Games, emphasizing the spirit of fair competition among the athletes from various nations.

Under this rule, even the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will not be invited to attend the Olympic Games in Paris, as no government representatives from Russia and Belarus are allowed to be present.
