Investigation into anti-Semitic remarks on the train in Dresden
According to police, a 54-year-old man made loud anti-Semitic and inciting remarks on a streetcar in Dresden and then threatened a passenger. The passenger intervened and asked the 54-year-old to calm down, police said on Sunday. When the passengers got off at a bus stop, the suspect threw a bottle at the 36-year-old passenger and gave the Hitler salute. Police officers arrested the 54-year-old. The second man remained unharmed. The police are looking for witnesses who saw what happened on the train at midday on Saturday.
The incident of anti-Semitic remarks and threats on the train in Dresden can be classified as an example of extremism. Unfortunately, this act of extremism led to a bottle being thrown and a Hitler salute, which are both forms of criminal behavior.
