Investigation after distribution of anti-Semitic leaflets
The police have launched an investigation into the distribution of allegedly anti-Semitic flyers at the University of Oldenburg. According to a police spokeswoman, they are targeting a 59-year-old man who was stopped distributing the leaflets on campus on Monday. The leaflets were seized and handed over to the public prosecutor's office, which is now examining the content, the spokesperson said on Wednesday. The man had been banned from the campus. The "Nordwest-Zeitung" had reported first.
The investigation into the distribution of anti-Semitic flyers has raised concerns about potential extremist activities on campus. The man under investigation is also known for his history of promoting controversial ideologies, often associated with extremist groups.
