Intended to disrupt Taylor Swift performances: Enhanced security measures implemented at Coldplay's Vienna show

Authorities have announced temporary road closures and designated permit-only parking areas. Coldplay is set to take the stage at the Ernst Happel Stadium on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Originally, Taylor Swift was also scheduled to perform at the venue, but her shows were unexpectedly canceled following the discovery and deterrence of potential attack plans. Three individuals suspected of aligning with ISIS were apprehended by authorities.

As reported by Vienna police spokesperson Philipp Hasslinger, there exists no impending danger to the Coldplay performances at present. Approximately 240,000 attendees across the four nights should not allow any hindrance to spoil their concert experience, he advised the AFP news agency.

Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay, shared an image of the Austrian capital through the online service X during the early hours of Tuesday, tweeting, "So thrilled to be in Vienna!"

The Viennese authorities have implemented additional safety measures to ensure the security of the Coldplay concerts, given the recent apprehension of suspects. In light of these developments, attendees are encouraged to adhere to all safety guidelines during their visit to the Ernst Happel Stadium.
