Around a month after putting out a request for projects combatting antisemitism in Berlin, the cultural department has given a positive mid-term assessment. According to a representative from the cultural department, the reaction to this initiative has been impressive. "There's been a tremendous amount of interest in the program," they stated in response to queries.

During the initial funding period up until August 15, approximately 60 proposals were submitted and are currently being evaluated. These projects span various topics. The initiative was launched in mid-July.

Beginning on July 29, organizations are invited to submit applications if they combat antisemitism through public events, campaigns, movie projects, or educational programs. The cultural department has established an action fund, with an estimated total of at least 2 million euros, as the spokesperson revealed in July. The application deadline is set for September 30.

Additionally, the cultural department is planning an advisory center against antisemitism in the cultural field. Providers can submit their concepts until early September.

The European Union, as a partner, has shown support for this anti-antisemitism initiative in Berlin, with their representative expressing interest in potential collaborations. The European Union's cultural department has expressed its intention to consider proposals from the EU for the action fund against antisemitism.
