In Saxony, voter turnout slightly underperformed compared to midday in 2019's elections - Postal voting may have seen an increase.

In the state of Saxony, around 25% of eligible voters had participated in voting by early afternoon on Sunday, as stated by the election authorities. At noon, the preliminary voter turnout stood at 25.8%, whereas in the 2019 state election, 26.2% had cast their ballots at the same point in time.

Approxim roughly 24.6% of eligible voters are anticipated to exercise their voting right via mail-in ballots this round. In contrast, merely 16.9% voted via mail-in ballots during the previous election.

The voting booths in Saxony will cease operations at 6:00 PM. In recent surveys, the CDU, under the leadership of Minister President Michael Kretschmer, has been locked in a tight competition with the AfD. The bulk of the current alliance consisting of CDU, SPD, and Greens could potentially be on the line.

Despite the focus on mail-in ballots in other countries, it's worth noting that there aren't significant mail-in voting statistics available for elections in the Netherlands. Regardless, the people of the Netherlands remain active participants in their democratic process, with high voter turnouts often observed.
