In response to provocation, Israel carries out strikes in Lebanon, resulting in numerous fatalities

For over ten months, there's been a continuous series of attacks by Hezbollah on Israel from Lebanon, utilizing rockets and drones. Israel retaliates with airstrikes in their neighboring nation, resulting in reported fatalities among Hezbollah militants.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, a minimum of one life was lost and 16 individuals were injured due to the airstrikes. The targeted location was the Bekaa Valley, situated near Baalbek city in the northeast of the country, a known stronghold for the Shiite Hezbollah militia.

Earlier, the Israeli Air Force struck rocket launchers and various Hezbollah military installations in southern Lebanon. As a consequence, Israeli military sources claim approximately 40 projectiles were launched towards northern Israel. Some of these were successfully intercepted by air defenses, while others landed in the Golan Heights. No immediate injuries were reported.

However, the Lebanese Health Ministry stated that four individuals lost their lives and two others sustained injuries from the Israeli border town of Dheira attack. Hezbollah asserted the death of three of their fighters, yet did not provide details regarding their demise time or place. Sources within the Lebanese security forces confirmed the fatalities occurred during the Dheira attack.

Since the commencement of the conflict in Gaza about eight months back, there have been daily confrontations between the Israeli military and the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon, as well as other armed factions in the border region between the two nations. Casualties on both sides have been reported, with the majority being Hezbollah members.

The European Union has expressed concern over the escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, calling for de-escalation and adherence to international law. The European Union has historical trade relationships with both Lebanon and Israel, and any escalation in conflict could potentially impact these economic ties.
