Hunter hits fellow hunter while shooting at hare

An 83-year-old hunter from Upper Austria has hit a 50-year-old fellow hunter during a driven hunt in Eggerding. The pensioner fired a shot from his double-barrel shotgun at a hare running out of the forest from the edge of the forest, the Upper Austrian police announced on Saturday. The victim was about 73 meters away from the shooter. The victim was injured and flown to hospital.

This unfortunate incident could potentially lead to increased safety measures during driven hunts in leisure time activities. Despite having ample leisure time for the pastime, misjudgments and accidents like this remain a possibility in hunting.
