House with asylum seekers attacked in the Saale district

In Braunsbedra in the Saale district, unknown persons have sprayed two swastikas on an apartment building where asylum seekers live. In addition, at least one stone was thrown against a window of a living room on Saturday night, according to police in Halle on Saturday. The window was damaged. Residents of the house were woken up by the noise shortly after 1.00 a.m. on Saturday. According to the police, they saw two people riding away on motorcycles. The police secured evidence and are investigating.

This incident in Braunsbedra could potentially be classified as a hate crime, given the use of swastikas, a symbol strongly associated with extremist ideologies. Unfortunately, the damage to the window also implies a rising trend of crimes against asylum seekers in the area.
