As the outgoing coach Pal Dardai spoke at Hertha BSC's general meeting, he conveyed his gratitude to the fans for their support during a tumultuous season. At the CityCube at Messe Berlin on Sunday, he received a prolonged standing ovation during the event.

In his message from a vacation destination, Dardai shared he had held discussions with Hertha managing director Tom Herrich about his potential future role at the newly relegated club. He expressed his enthusiasm to contribute to their comeback efforts.

Interim president Fabian Drescher expressed admiration for the 48-year-old, describing him as a legend at the club. Hertha had confirmed the end of Dardai's third term in office over the weekend, announcing his intent to stay with the team but in a different capacity. The team has yet to unveil the new coach for the upcoming season.

The early disclosure of Dardai's departure through media reports upset those in charge of the club. "The continued leaking of internal information, which is handled confidentially, to the press is infuriating," said Drescher.

Hertha's managing director, Tom Herrich, stated they had observed the agreed upon timing for announcing Dardai's departure, despite the premature release of information.
