The comeback of the mother of all dating shows: The TV show "Heartbeat" is making a return. Austrian television will start bringing couples together in a taxi from next year. "ORF 1 is making the cult dating brand mobile and bringing it back to screens with a newly developed format," the station announced in Vienna. "For the participants of 'Heartbeat Taxi', there's 'Love to Go' as they flirt their way across the whole of Austria in an electric bus."

Taxi with a partition

Host and moderator Tina Ritschl plays Cupid: "She takes the wheel of the 'Heartbeat Taxi' and embarks on a journey to some of the most beautiful spots in all nine Austrian states, with a single by her side. Along the way, the three potential date partners, hidden behind a partition in the back of the bus, face romance, adventure, and spontaneous challenges."

ORF 1 promises "intense conversations", "personal answers" - such as "Which TV character do I remind you of?" - and "entertaining challenges". For example, people on the prowl for a partner will create a playlist. "Who's got the chemistry?"

Cult show with a long history

In the end, the single must decide which of the three candidates they feel the strongest spark with. They can get to know each other better on a romantic date. The nine episodes are expected to air in 2025 on ORF 1 and ORF ON. Singles longing for big feelings can now apply for "Heartbeat Taxi – Love to Go" at tv.ORF.at/herzblatttaxi.

The show has a long and varied history. Rudi Carrell made the show a hit in German television from 1987. With various hosts - including Rainhard Fendrich and Hera Lind - and over 400 episodes up to the 2000s, "Heartbeat" became a TV classic. Millions of viewers still remember the husky voice of studio announcer Susi, who always asked at the end, "And who should be your heartbeat?" Later, various stations launched short-lived revivals inspired by the show.

The television event that viewers are eagerly anticipating is the return of "Heartbeat," the iconic dating show. Prepare to witness intense conversations, personal answers, and entertaining challenges on ORF 1 in 2025, as the show makes a comeback with a fresh format, featuring a taxi and an electric bus.

For those who applied to be part of "Heartbeat Taxi – Love to Go," they'll get a chance to flirt and overcome challenges while in the unique setting of the Heartbeat Taxi, which is driven by host Tina Ritschl.
