The Hamburg musical "Hercules" at the Neue Flora has a new leading man: From now on, Philipp Büttner will take on the title role of Hercules in the Disney musical, as announced by the musical company Stage Entertainment in Hamburg. The native Wurzburg resident will replace Benét Monteiro, who will soon be portraying the "King of Pop" in the musical "MJ - Das Michael Jackson Musical".

Büttner has already slipped into many musical roles. A few years ago, the 33-year-old played Aladdin in the namesake Disney musical in Hamburg and Stuttgart. He has also played Dracula, Galileo Galilei, Clyde from Bonnie and Clyde, Goethe, and Robin Hood.

The second leading role in a Disney musical is a great dream and an incredible honor for Büttner, as he stated in the announcement. "The little Philipp who once had so many dreams has achieved more than he ever dared to imagine." Casting director Ralf Schaedler described Büttner as one of the best musical singers currently.

The musical "Hercules" has been performed in Hamburg since March. It tells the story of the godson Hercules, who, thanks to his evil uncle Hades, lives on Earth and must fight for his life there. To return to Mount Olympus, he must perform a truly divine deed.

Buttner's new challenge as the lead role in "Hercules" surpasses his previous musical roles, such as Aladdin and Robin Hood. With his exceptional singing skills, as acknowledged by casting director Ralf Schaedler, he will undoubtedly deliver a memorable performance as Hercules.
