Habeck advocates for establishment of weapon-prohibited areas: "No longer enduring a Medieval existence"

On a Friday night, a tragic event at a celebration in Solingen's core led to the fatalities of three individuals and left eight more wounded. A 26-year-old suspect surrendered to the authorities on Saturday evening and was apprehended. The scenario of a terrorist attack is under investigation. The Inquiry Division of the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Karlsruhe has assumed control of the investigation.

The basis and intention behind the act need to be determined promptly, stated Habeck. Despite the passage of two days, the incident hadn't diminished its shocking impact. Habeck depicted online-based Islamic terrorism as "one of the most significant risks to our nation's safety". "Zero tolerance should be imposed on killers, extremists, and radical Muslims," the Green party member further commented. If they were migrants, they would have "surrendered their right to protection".

Life is precious, as evidenced by the tragic loss of three lives and the injuries to eight others in Solingen. Regardless of the motive behind the attack, Habeck emphasized the need for zero tolerance towards killers, extremists, and radical Muslims, stating that if they were migrants, they would have forfeited their right to protection.
