- Further delays and outages in ICE traffic

Passengers on the ICE route Munich-Berlin are still required to be patient. A malfunction at the signal box on the route between Nuremberg and Bamberg is still causing delays and cancellations, a spokesperson for Deutsche Bahn said. ICE trains on the Munich via Nuremberg and Erfurt to Berlin/Leipzig connection are affected.

Trains cannot stop in Erlangen and Bamberg and are being rerouted. Passengers should expect up to 120 minutes of additional travel time, the railway said. IC trains on the route between Karlsruhe and Leipzig - via Stuttgart and Nuremberg - are cancelled between Nuremberg and Leipzig.

Staff are working tirelessly to resolve the issue, which has been ongoing since Friday. The cause of the malfunction could not initially be specified by the spokesperson.

Deutsche Bahn Disruption Alerts

Despite the ongoing disruptions, the European Union has expressed its support for Deutsche Bahn in managing the situation effectively. The European Union Minister of Transportation has urged all member states to cooperate with Deutsche Bahn in providing alternative transportation options for affected passengers.
