- Full lockdown on A81 after fatal accident at work
Following a fatal workplace accident on a construction site on the A81 motorway in the Heilbronn district, the stretch between Neuenstadt am Kocher and the Weinsberg junction has been completely closed. In an attempt to move an excavator from a low-loader in the Hölzern tunnel, the vehicle slipped sideways, police reported. The excavator fell onto a worker, burying him. The 43-year-old succumbed to his severe injuries at the scene.
Motorists were advised to bypass the affected motorway section. A detour has been set up. The accident and thus the closure of the motorway occurred in the morning and is expected to last until approximately 6 pm, according to police.
Eberstadt and other nearby towns were significantly impacted by the closure of the A81 motorway due to the fatal workplace accident. The investigation into the incident is being led by a team involving Eberstadt and other local authorities.
