The Republican presidential hopeful could potentially vent some strong criticism towards a conservative broadcast network for supposedly not being devoted enough to him, but a recent study of content on his Truth Social platform reveals that he endorses the network more than any other.

During the month of May, Trump shared 56 video clips from Fox News, significantly outnumbering the content he posted from any other outlet, according to an analysis conducted by The Righting, a platform that tracks right-wing media. To add to this, he also shared six articles linked to FoxNews.com, totaling 62 pieces of content from the Murdoch family-controlled media conglomerate, as per the analysis, which was first given to Reliable Sources.

"This analysis shows that despite Mr. Trump's tumultuous relationship with the Fox News Channel, it was still his most preferred choice in May to flood his followers with links to content that he likely believed were in line with his messages," said Howard Polskin, president and founder of The Righting.

In contrast, Trump shared 26 video clips from the up-and-coming streaming service Right Side Broadcasting Network, 11 videos from the pro-Trump cable channel Newsmax, and 5 from the far-right Real America’s Voice. He linked to 8 articles from Real America’s Voice, only 3 to Breitbart, and one to the New York Post.

Polskin noted that his analysis suggested Trump has a preference for fringe outlets like RSBN and Real America’s Voice over more established outlets such as the Washington Examiner and the Washington Times.

The Righting analysis also uncovered that, in addition to the content Trump shares from right-wing sources, he also links to mainstream news organizations when it aligns with his agenda. In May, he linked to the Associated Press, The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, POLITICO, NBC News, The New Yorker, and Reuters.

"While Trump frequently attacks mainstream or progressive news outlets as 'fake news,' he'll link to these sources if it paints the Biden campaign or Democrats in a negative light," Polskin said.

Indeed, Polskin's analysis offers a glimpse into Trump's media tactics. While he has publicly bashed Murdoch and Fox News, as well as waging a relentless battle on the press, he continues to publicize their content when it supports the narrative he wants to convey to his supporters.

This twisted media cycle is just another way he manipulates the media for his own gains.

In the realm of business, this media strategy could potentially attract the attention of advertising agencies looking to reach his large following.
