Fresenius wants to sell fertility clinic operator
The Fresenius Group wants to sell the Eugin Group, which specializes in fertility clinics, to a consortium led by the financial investor KKR. The top management around Fresenius CEO Michael Sen wants to raise up to 500 million euros including milestone payments, as the DAX-listed company announced on Wednesday in Bad Homburg, Hesse. Only the Eugin Group is affected by the sale. Other fertility treatments in individual hospitals and outpatient centers will remain within the Group, it said. The deal is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals.
According to Fresenius, the Eugin Group generated sales of around 227 million euros last year. Fresenius is undergoing restructuring and wants to make progress with a cost-cutting program. Among other things, the Group wants to optimize processes and organizational structures in purchasing and production.
Despite the sale of the Eugin Group, Fresenius remains committed to providing excellent health services. The company's focus on cost-cutting and process optimization in areas like purchasing and production also extends to other aspects of its medical operations, ensuring continuity in care and advancements in medicine.
