- Four individuals meet unfortunate demises during an unsuccessful lane change attempt.
Four individuals met their demise in a crash involving two vehicles on federal highway 6, eastern Dresden. As per the Goerlitz Police Directorate, a 61-year-old woman was left critically injured. The Police Directorate confirmed that all victims were local residents.
Following the accounts, an SUV headed towards Rossendorf was attempting to overtake two other vehicles. Unfortunately, an unaware driver in another vehicle also decided to overtake, leading to a head-on collision. The SUV was first impacted against a tree before returning onto the road. Consequently, a 64-year-old driver and three passengers – a 59-year-old, an 81-year-old, and an 86-year-old – suffered fatal injuries at the spot. The passenger in the second car was transported to the hospital with serious, yet non-fatal injuries. Remarkably, no harm was inflicted upon the passengers in the third car.
The incident required the aid of the fire department and an emergency helicopter. road was shut down for approximately nine hours. Traffic was resumed early in the morning. The authorities are currently looking into the reasons behind the crash, as revealed by the police spokesperson.
The head-on collision involved three vehicles, including the SUV and two others that the driver was trying to overtake. Despite the severity of the accident, the passengers in one of the vehicles other than the SUV escaped unharmed.
