Following the tragic stabbing incident, Scholz pays a visit to Solingen on Monday mornings.

Government authorities were set to dish out more details later on a Sunday afternoon. A tragic event unfolded on Friday in Solingen's city center, where three individuals lost their lives and eight others sustained injuries. A suspect, a 26-year-old man hailing from Syria, reportedly surrendered to the police on Saturday evening after evading capture for some time. The Federal Criminal Office is currently probing the incident under the suspicion of terrorism involvement. The notorious Islamic State (ISIS) extremist group allegedly took responsibility for the attack.

Government officials revealed further information during the Sunday press conference, with Steffen Hebestreit and other authorities providing updates on the investigation. Despite the ISIS claim, Steffen Hebestreit stressed that the investigation is still ongoing to confirm the terrorism link.
